Back when Lance Armstrong’s “Livestrong” bracelets were becoming popular, there were stories about hospital staff potentially confusing those bracelets with yellow bracelets used to indicate a patient’s wish to not be resuscitated.

Well, this great-grandmother should have no such problem.

  1. Never a bad idea. There are so many times there’s ambiguity surrounding code status, sometimes people will come with a 10-year old living will, or a directive from another state, and family members don’t always know what the patient wants (not typical Sunday dinner conversation fare for most of us). Legal or not, if I opened a patient’s shirt to attach the pads and saw this, I’d start looking for paperwork…
